YouTube Grammar Rock

Watch this YouTube Grammar Rock video on prepositions. It got my students excited about learning boring prepositions.

You've made my day! I love School House Rock, but only have the VCR tape. It's such a pain rewinding and forwarding to find the one I want. And forget it if I want to show 2 different ones that are in different places on the tape. I never thought to check out Youtube to find each one individually. My only question would be if I am breaking copyright laws if I play it in my class? Not that I am that conscientious about copyright, but some schools have the copyright police. Haha. :o)

Most copyright laws are vague. As long as you are using the video for "educational purposes," you should be covered. I hope my students enjoy the video as well. Most are able to view the blog, but most do not have gmail accounts. I have suggested that they ask their parents for permission to contribute to the blog since I created it for them. As of yet, I have had no one join.

It is disappointing that your students are not joining in. I think it would be great to share their responses to the information you are making available. I am a huge fan of School House Rock! I remember back in the early 70's when I was but a mere child and it was new on Saturday morning TV. It is a teaching idea that has really stood the test of time. I have found as a teacher the music really makes the concept stick with students.

Amy, I thought I would add this about Schoolhouse Rock. One of our special ed teachers asked me to order a Schoolhouse Rock DVd. I found a DVD with most of the shows from the ( I believe)
70s and 80s. I order four copies. You'd think they were pumkin pie - I have to keep them under lock and key. I guess some thing just plain work. Thanks, RobertW

I can remember watching this several years ago when I taught 6th grade and it is still so applicable to teaching grammar.
